Lesson 2 - Layout Mode
In this lesson, we will focus on the first of three workspace views that are used to build the core elements of MainStage concerts: the Layout Tab. You will also begin creating your very own custom template.

Lesson 3 - Edit Mode Part 1
In this lesson, we will focus on Edit view. You'll learn how to use concert level, set level and patch level, you’ll create channel strips/ instruments, map buttons/faders to control parameters, and create and save your own patches.

Lesson 4 - Edit Mode Part 2
This lesson is a continuation of the “Edit” mode. We will focus on layering channel strips together to create rich keys patches, splitting instruments to different ranges, adjusting instrument MIDI settings, transposing instruments and more.

Lesson 5 - Sound Design
In this lesson we transition from template layout and dive deep into sound design and synthesizer fundamentals, including: oscillators, LFOs, envelopes, filters, waveforms and much more. You'll come away with some great pad sounds.

Lesson 6 - Audio FX & VSTs
We'll walk you through all stock VST instruments and audio effect plug-ins in MainStage 3 and teach you what they do, how they are used, and what settings to use in order to get the best possible sounds.

Building on your understanding of VSTs and audio effects, in this lesson you'll learn how to control all Midi FX in MainStage 3, and how to incorporate them into your keys rig for some inspiring sounds. You'll also learn about busses and FX sends.

MainStage 3 is an incredible software that is commonly used by Worship musicians around the world for playing in Church, and it’s a program that every Worship Keyboard player (ie. you) would greatly benefit to know. If you’re new to MainStage or even somewhat familiar, this course is meant to be an intensive walk-through that gradually increases in difficulty and builds on previously learned concepts—giving you the keys to mastering MainStage 3 in much less time.

We recommend that all students in this course have MainStage 3 with full sound library installation (72 GB), a keyboard with MIDI capability, a USB Audio Interface, and 2 USB MIDI cables.

Before you dive into the course, it’s important to know that this course was designed a few inches above intermediate level piano and music theory. You should already be familiar with the word “octave,” that the musical alphabet goes from A to G, and what it means when a note is sharp or flat. If you’re not familiar with one or more of these aforementioned concepts, we recommend spending ten minutes at a piano with someone who can explain them to you before you start this course.
