I’m having trouble using Song-Specific Patches

  1. A song-specific patch I downloaded doesn’t work in my template

If you’ve downloaded a song-specific Worship patch, they were all designed specifically for use within Worship Start’s MainStage Kit for Keys. This means that if you try to import one of our patches into another personal or commercial template, many of the complex routings and mappings involved will not cross over, and you may experience a plethora of problems with the patch. However, if you are advanced at MainStage, you can save the channel strip settings, import them into another patch, and map the parameters manually to the knobs and faders in your template. This does take a lot of time and we cannot offer our support if you do this.

2. Some keys are not making any sound

Our song-specific patches are built much differently than a typical MainStage patch, in that they are based in set key signatures and ranges. If you are playing certain notes and don’t hear anything it is because we designed it intentionally that way, with certain instruments and MIDI effects (such as Chord trigger) programmed to specific keys on your keyboard. Designing it this way helps you play all the parts in smaller, designated ranges, using voicings that are easy to achieve. If you’re unsure how to play our song-specific patch, visit our song-specific patches page and watch the video demo of your patch being played.

3. Some instruments are in different keys when I use the transpose feature

In rare cases, some patches may have a routing error or just do not function as intended—causing some instrument layers to not transpose along with the other layers. Please message us right away using the messenger chat on the homepage and we will diagnose any routing issues and send you a fresh copy of the patch as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience, as the routings for this transpose feature are very complex.
