Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t get a product to work properly. What do I do?

Message our website using the messenger chat in the bottom right corner of the home page. Worship Start runs full-time customer support and someone from our team will try to diagnose any issues and get you back up and running as quick as possible.

Why can’t I download anything even though I’m signed in?

Most login issues are caused by using the web browser Safari. Safari recently did an auto update making it difficult for your browser to work with login sites like Worship Start. We recommend you from now on use Chrome or Firefox. Using these browsers will cause you no issues with logging in and download content from Worship Start.

Where can I legally use Worship Start’s Royalty-free music?

Worship Start—as well as the artists and organizations that have provided these songs—do NOT allow these songs to be used by music artists in singles, EPs, albums and mixtapes that will be distributed to platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music etc. and any platform that requires a third-party distributor. If you are not a music artist, you may legally use them for online services, announcement videos, pre/post service playlists, podcast intros, sermon series videos, and any other use as long as the songs are not copyrighted.

What versions of Mac OS are safe to use with Worship Start’s MainStage Kit?

As with all new OS updates, there is a high chance that you will run into hardware and software-related problems with Mac OS Big Sur. We have been reading reports that MainStage 3.5 has been crashing, and there have been numerous cases of OS-related issues.

If you must update to Big Sur or to MainStage 3.5, make sure to run a full backup of your system before proceeding. We also ask that you check in with the manufacturers of the software you use (ex. Logic, MainStage, Ableton, etc.). They will be able to give you a more accurate timeline for when it is safe to update. We will also release an update when we have fully confirmed that the update is safe.

As for the minimum requirements, you need minimum OS 10.14.6 in order to run the latest version of MainStage.

What version of MainStage do I need to have for the MainStage Kit?

In order to run our Kit effectively, we highly recommend that you update MainStage to version 3.4 or higher. Any previous versions may negatively impact MainStage’s performance, and may result in error messages when attempting to use Worship Start products.

I have an older computer. Will it work with your MainStage Kit?

If you’re running a 2010 Macbook Pro with 4 GB of Ram and an outdated OS, chances are you’ll run into problems. Computer speed, storage space, processing, and RAM matter tremendously—especially with a CPU-intensive program like MainStage. In order to run MainStage without any hiccups, we recommend:

  • Macbook Pro, 2015 or later; capable or running MainStage 3 version 3.4 or higher.

  • 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor or higher.

  • 8 GBs of RAM or higher.

If you don’t have the aforementioned specs, try your best to avoid over-loading your concerts and follow our tips for reducing CPU issues.

Why isn’t my keyboard working with the MainStage Kit?

There are a few potential reasons why your keyboard might not connect:

  • You have not assigned your keyboard to the template in the Layout Tab

  • Your MIDI cable may be loose or not connecting properly

  • You have not downloaded the most recent MIDI driver for your keyboard

  • You have not set your input and outputs correctly in MainStage audio preferences

If you’ve double checked these tips and your problems still persist, message our website using the chat so that we can help diagnose your problem.

What software do I need to download my Nord products?

All you need to download is Nord Sound Manager, available on Nord’s website.

My Nord patches are giving me an error message. What do I do?

Most incompatibility errors are fixed when updating your Nord to the most recent OS. Upon booting up, look on the center LCD screen for your OS version number, and make sure it is updated with the most recent version.

Do Worship Start products work with Nord keyboards that aren’t a Nord Stage 2 or Nord Stage 3?

All Nord Stage 3 products are not compatible with any other Nord.

All Nord Stage 2 products available on Worship Start come with .nsmp files, which can technically be used by the following Nord keyboards:

Nord Stage 2, Nord Stage 3, Nord Wave, Nord Electro 3, Nord Electro 4, Nord Piano 2.

However, the program files (.ns2p) and program bundle files (.ns2pb) may not work, as other Nord keyboards don’t have 88 keys, nor do they have the same on-board synth and effects parameters. The solution to this is to manually import the sample file (.nsmp) into your Nord using Nord Sound Manager and manually layer, split, or tweak it to your desired taste.
